Pale as moonlight and sweet as can be. Luna is a female Jungle Moonglow boa, born in July 2021. She's extremely sweet, very food driven, inquisitive, and she loves to be handled.
The genes
How you get a Moonglow
A Moonglow combines Kahl albino, which removes black pigment, with anery, which removes red and orange. Hypo then fades what's left, for that pearly, moonlit look. The anery in a Moonglow is type 1. Jungle adds a pattern twist that can scramble or float the saddles.
Personality
Curious and cuddly
Luna is inquisitive and loves to be handled, always checking out what's going on. She's very food driven too, and small rabbits are her meal of choice.
Field notes
About boa constrictors
- Boas give birth to live babies instead of laying eggs, often around 25 at a time.
- Boa constrictors range from Mexico through Central and South America to Argentina.
- They're nonvenomous constrictors: they hold on and squeeze.
- With good care they can live 20–30 years, and sometimes even longer.
- Luna was born, not hatched: boas give live birth.
